Evolution of the Ambulance

The first evidence of an ambulance being used for emergency purposes was by the Spanish army in 1487. Over the years the patient compartments have gotten larger to accommodate increasing amounts of equipment to match the increasing number of prehospital skills EMTs and Paramedics are performing. But from the outside, ambulances have just gotten bigger with a few more stripes and a whole ‘lotta blinky lights.

So I illustrated some of the styles of ambulance design over the years in this 36″x12″ print that I posted on my Zazzle Store. A bunch of people asked for one, so there you go. Thanks for supporting!
